Imersa VR — FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions for using Imersa VR on Apple Vision Pro (content import, synchronization, and playback controls).

What is Imersa VR?

Imersa VR is a professional visualization application for Apple Vision Pro designed to preview and validate immersive cinematic experiences in a virtual cinema environment.

Who is Imersa VR intended for?

Imersa VR is intended for cinema operators, immersive content creators, technical teams, and creative studios who need to visualize and validate immersive cinema content before deployment in a real auditorium.

What types of content does Imersa VR use?

Each immersive experience in Imersa VR is composed of:

  • one MP4 video file (film or trailer),
  • one corresponding CIS file, which defines the behavior of luminous panels and immersive lighting, including color and intensity.

How are the MP4 and CIS files associated?

The MP4 and CIS files are associated by filename. Both files must share the exact same base filename.

Example: demo_trailer.mp4 + demo_trailer.cis

How do I add new content to Imersa VR?

New content is added using AirDrop from a Mac to the Apple Vision Pro. Due to standard visionOS behavior, MP4 and CIS files follow different steps.

How do I transfer an MP4 via AirDrop?

  1. AirDrop the .mp4 from your Mac to Apple Vision Pro.
  2. The video opens automatically in the system media player.
  3. Choose Save to Files.
  4. Select: On My Apple Vision Pro → Imersa VR.
  5. Confirm the save.

The MP4 is then stored inside the Imersa VR sandbox directory.

How do I transfer a CIS via AirDrop?

  1. AirDrop the .cis from your Mac to Apple Vision Pro.
  2. By default, the file is placed in Files → Downloads.
  3. Open the Files app, select the .cis file, then choose Move.
  4. Select: On My Apple Vision Pro → Imersa VR, then confirm.

Do I need to restart Imersa VR after adding new content?

In some cases, restarting the application may be required for newly added content to appear. This depends on when the files are copied relative to the app’s lifecycle.

Can Imersa VR download or stream content?

No. Imersa VR does not download, stream, or provide any content. All MP4 and CIS files are user-provided and stored locally on the device.

How do I control playback in Imersa VR?

Playback is controlled through a floating virtual control panel that appears in front of the user. The panel provides:

  • frame-accurate playback control,
  • pause and resume,
  • navigation to the next content,
  • direct frame selection via a numeric keypad,
  • configuration of a start delay.

Can I pause playback and inspect a specific frame?

Yes. Imersa VR allows playback to be paused and repositioned at the frame level, making it possible to inspect lighting and panel behavior at precise moments.

What is the start delay used for?

The start delay allows you to introduce a controlled temporal offset between the MP4 video and the CIS content, enabling fine-tuning of synchronization.

How do I show or hide the control panel?

The control panel is gesture-driven:

  • Thumb-up: show the panel
  • Thumb-down: hide the panel

Does Imersa VR modify the content files?

No. Imersa VR does not modify MP4 or CIS files. It is strictly a visualization and validation tool.

Is Imersa VR a media player for general users?

No. Imersa VR is not a consumer media player. It is a professional tool focused on immersive cinema previsualization and technical validation.

Is copyrighted content included with Imersa VR?

No. Imersa VR does not include or distribute any copyrighted content. All content is provided by the user.
